Delicate details in animals are tricky but subtle, the deer is one of the most peaceful and delicate of them all in my opinion.

The main focus of the picture is the deer, which is coloured by watercolour pencils. This technique allowed me to be really specific with colour - using a mix of brown, orange and yellow.

If you concentrate, you can hear the crunch of snow.
